Conveyancing Solicitors - Obtaining a Conveyancing Quote

When obtaining a conveyancing quote from conveyancing solicitors or property solicitors you should make sure that you read this carefully to understand it before you go ahead and request the conveyancing solicitors  handle the transaction for you either the sale or purchase of your house.

The conveyancing quote should explain what the conveyancing solicitor will basically charge for their professional service this element of the quote will usually contain VAT at the applicable rate which is currently 20%. So a conveyancing quote which states that the solicitors fee will be £400 plus VAT @ 20% essentially means that you pay a total amount of £480 for the solicitors fees i.e. £400 plus VAT of £80.00.

Conveyancing solicitors will also include disbursements which are things a conveyancing solicitor has to pay other people for, on your behalf.

Really they should be roughly the same from one conveyancing quote to the next. They are after all, fixed charges and I'll list them all (along with what they should cost) a little later on.
